CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi - South is home to a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, allowing premature babies and newborns with special needs to stay close to their recovering mothers. All babies who come to our NICU are critically ill infants who are born prematurely, typically between 24 and 36 weeks. Many of these infants have low birth weights with multiple medical problems.
We have a trained staff of physicians and nurses dedicated to providing the highest quality of care. Our neonatal nurses alone have over 200 years of combined experience caring for our tiniest, most critically ill patients.
The hospital also has a specialized neonate transport team that remains ready at a moment's notice to transport fragile babies from any CHRISTUS Spohn hospital back to the state-of-the-art level of neonatal care provided at CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi - South.
