CHRISTUS Spohn RN Externship Program
CHRISTUS Spohn Health System offers a comprehensive RN Residency program. Unlike most other new graduate programs, the RN Externship Program is designed to be a highly supportive and appropriately paced learning experience.
The RN Residency is a comprehensive education and training system designed specifically to transition newly graduated registered nurses from student o safe, competent professional practitioners.
Integrated into our hospital’s education structure, the RN Residency includes guided clinical experience, a formal mentoring program, debriefing/self-care sessions and 360-degree evaluation.
The RN Residency is the start of a journey from knowledge to knowing for the new graduate registered nurse.
Mentors Make It Easy
CHRISTUS Spohn Health System makes it easy for you to transition from a student nurse to a confident, competent staff nurse with our new Integration Program. Each new graduate who joins the CHRISTUS Spohn team will be enrolled in a six-week orientation and assigned to a mentor, better known as a preceptor. Your personal preceptor will support you through the program, show you the ropes and guide you through a structured curriculum of progressive skill development and patient care assignments.
"Weekend Plan"
Prefer to take the week off and work only on the weekends? Now you can with CHRISTUS Spohn's "Weekend Plan," a flexible schedule option for clinical staff RNs.
Weekend Plan nurses will be scheduled to work every weekend with an option to work three eight-hour shifts or three 12-hour shifts between 7 a.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Monday. To make the Weekend Plan even more attractive, we have added extra incentive pay of $4 per hour over the regular weekend and night pay differentials currently in place.
