Diabetes Services

CHRISTUS Spohn's Diabetes services offers group classes on diabetes self management training, insulin therapy, gestational diabetes management and Medical Nutrition therapy. The program is for people with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. There is also a 2 hour review course available for those who have previously attended the initial training classes.

Instructions provide practical information on how eating healthy, exercise and medicine work together to provide a healthy lifestyle for people with diabetes.

Cost for classes is covered in part or completely by most insurance plans. We will help you make arrangements for a payment plan if needed. Some scholarships are also available.

A physician's order is required for attendance. Diabetes Education classes are available at CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Alice, CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Beeville and CHRISTUS Spohon Hospital Kleberg. For more information, call 361-661-8196.
